Option on AFC SPIRALFEEDER® Ensures Smooth, Consistent Conveying
Clifton, NJ: Process equipment manufacturer Automated Flexible Conveyor, Clifton, NJ, (afcspiralfeeder.com) has unveiled custom agitators on the company’s AFC SPIRALFEEDER® flexible screw conveyors. Offered as an option, the custom agitators automatically rotate at the hopper discharge at a preset rate to promote smooth, consistent, even material feeding to the screw. The potential for material bridging, clumping, and/or sticking to the hopper walls is virtually eliminated while material flows at the ideal flow rate without interruption.
Specified for transferring non-free flowing materials and ingredients such as sugar, salt, flour, lime, and fly ash, the custom agitators are designed in unique shapes and configurations based on the material properties, throughput targets, and other considerations for each installation. The agitator rotation rate may be easily adjusted on the fly to accommodate batch to batch material variations.
The AFC SPIRALFEEDER is custom-designed and manufactured with the custom agitator at the company’s New Jersey facility. Product and material testing are offered in the on-site test laboratory.
